Supporters of Friends of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics

An active group of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics alumni has joined forces to create the Friends of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics, providing structural and financial support for our new GymACT program. GymACT is a league of competitive collegiate club programs and former varsity teams that will offer Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics the opportunity to flourish in a new form. GymACT will enable Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics to continue to provide opportunities for junior gymnasts and build on our more than century-old legacy in the sport.

We have been working closely with the American Sports Council and its CEO, Eric Pearson, to hone strategy and facilitate our transition to club status — while still embracing efforts to bring back our program as a varsity sport at the University of Minnesota. A crucial and ongoing effort has been to maintain Cooke Hall as our training facility and defend our longtime home. Our efforts to keep the program at a high level will require operating capital, and we graciously request that alumni and friends of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics will assist us on our path forward.

We all have a vast network of family and friends, colleagues and acquaintances, and it will be up to us to mobilize those connections and motivate them to take action. We need as many people as possible to donate. One-time donations are sincerely appreciated and crucial. Even better are recurring monthly or annual donations that provide cash flows for our organization to ensure this program remains thriving and successful — for another 118 years. All donations are fully tax-deductible.

We are in unprecedented times and it will take unprecedented efforts to continue to provide opportunities to high school gymnasts who have a burning desire to compete at the University of Minnesota. We know we can count on each of you to help, and we thank you for the support.
